DORA metrics

A set of metrics proposed by the DORA team at Google for measuring an organisation's engineering performance applying DevOps practices. They're aimed at driving indicators of throughput (velocity) and stability (quality).

Deployment Frequency (DF)

The cadence of releases (of features, or code) to users.

Mean Lead Time for changes (MLT)

How long does it take for an idea or implemented piece of functionality (e.g. a commit) to production?

Mean Time to Recover (MTTR)

How long does it take to restore service after an availability issue?

Change Failure Rate (CFR)

What percentage of production changes encounter issues during apply, requiring either remedial action (fixing forward) or rolling back? How much engineering effort is directed at toil addressing these failed changes?
