Chubby
Chubby is Google's internal locking service, providing a filesystem-like API for lock management. It solves consensus problems using the Paxos protocols.
It's used for:
- Local master election within services.
- Borg's BNS service stores BNS path and IP:port pairs for jobs in Chubby.
