Internal struggles

Be the board

We can fall into states of readily fighting with our own thoughts and feelings: positive on one side, negative on the other. When we invest time and energy in winning the game, we come up against two obstacles:

  • There's an infinite number of positive and negative thoughts: it's a never ending battle.
  • Positive pieces attract the opposing negative pieces.

Alternatively, we can be the board: in intimate contact, but not an active participant. This allows us to invest time delivering on our values rather than in futile battle.
